What is Intermediate

After Class 10, most Telangana students join a junior college for the two-year Intermediate course. Your group decides the subjects you study and, in many cases, which entrance exams you can take. The choice is a big one, so it deserves more than a friend's advice.

What to ask junior colleges

Ask thisWhy it matters
Which boards and groups do you offer? So the group you want is available
What is the fee structure, including hostel and coaching? To avoid hidden costs
Can a student change group after joining, and how?Rules differ and are sometimes strict
What is the teaching plan for entrance exams? To see whether coaching is integrated or separate
What are the student support and counselling facilities?Stress and workload are real in Class 11-12

Ask for answers in writing and read the admission terms before paying.

Board differences

Students moving from CBSE or ICSE to a Telangana junior college, or the other way, should check subject names, syllabus differences and eligibility for state-level exams. Central exams such as JEE, NEET and CUET follow their own eligibility rules, so verify these directly on the official sites.
